Tracking Foundations 01

Join us for our Tracking Foundations 01 course. Inferno Canine is a competitive IGP club that for the first time has decided to offer footstep foundations tracking to the committed dog owners of the Calgary community!

This course will teach owners how to begin footstep tracking. This style of tracking refers to the dog following the scent of every footstep of the tracklayer. Dogs are required to follow with a “deep nose” (nose to the ground) and maintain intensity and concentration throughout the track, while indicating “articles” along the way. During this course you will learn (but not limited to):

🚩 Tracking Theory
🚩 How to properly lay a track
- scent pads, laying techniques
🚩Article games and article indications
🚩 Straight lines, corners, serpentines
🚩 Line Handling
🚩 Common problems in beginning tracking and how to correct them

This course will take a maximum of 5 participants. Each class will run in a “seminar style” consisting of rotating between 1on1 field work and spectating. This course is 6 weeks in length, 1x per week. Participants are expected to track on their own during the week in addition to the classes, in order to progress through the course.

Class Pre-Requisites:
▪️ Dog must have desire to work for food
▪️ No aggressive dogs permitted (see our basic obedience class. Contact us if you are unsure on terminology)

Only 5 spots available per class. Register before they fill!
$250 for 6 weeks. 1x per week, 1hr. This class is held outdoors by our home field. Dress for the weather.

Schedule: SUNDAYS AT 9am . Aygst 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, Sept 5.

Located SE Calgary off Macleod Trial and 210 Ave SE. Directions and specific instructions for the class will be sent to participants upon completed registration.
